Oxaquim Receives the Internationalization Business Award in Teruel
Today, November 22, 2026, is a day of gratitude at Oxaquim. Yesterday, we received the Internationalization Award as part of the 22nd Teruel Business Awards 2026.
These awards are jointly promoted by the Government of Aragon, CEOE Teruel, Cepyme Teruel, the Teruel Chamber of Commerce, and the Teruel City Council. When key stakeholders—so vital to the future of a region—work hand in hand, the outcome is always positive. Your commitment serves as an inspiring example and provides the confidence our company needs to continue investing in Teruel—specifically, to keep growing decisively in Alcañiz.
This Internationalization Award fills us with pride for all that we have achieved and motivates us to continue our work both within and beyond our borders. At the same time, it carries a responsibility that drives us to honor all our commitments: to our employees, partners, suppliers, and clients, as well as to Alcañiz—a community that welcomed us with open arms from day one.
We would also like to congratulate the other companies that were rightfully honored yesterday: Tersol, Naturuel Corporación Agroalimentaria, Joyería Polo, TuberTrack, and Dinópolis.
We share an excerpt from the acceptance remarks delivered by Marc Miquel, CEO of Oxaquim—alongside Daniel Miquel, also CEO of Oxaquim—upon receiving the Internationalization Award:
“On behalf of our father, Jaume Miquel—who established the Oxaquim plant in Alcañiz in 1991—we would like to express our gratitude for this recognition. We are truly delighted to receive it, as it highlights our international focus.
This award comes at a pivotal moment for the company.
We are currently executing an ambitious expansion plan in Alcañiz, valued at over 20 million euros. This will allow us to triple our production capacity by 2028, hire more than 40 additional employees, and even consider opening a factory in the United States to meet growing global demand.
Oxaquim is the largest European producer of oxalic acid and the second-largest globally. We serve as a strategic supplier to rare-earth producers in the Americas, Malaysia, Europe, and Japan; they rely on us to bypass Chinese supply chains, thereby ensuring security for their own clients and their respective governments.
Our production capacity and quality have established us as the key strategic supplier of oxalic acid outside of China.
We would like to dedicate this award to our entire team—our employees and collaborators, who are Oxaquim’s greatest asset—in recognition of their professionalism and their commitment to the company’s values and objectives.
Thank you very much for your support and for this award, which fills us with great pride.”
