Oxaquim, Europe’s leading producer of oxalic acid and second-largest worldwide, has signed a commercial agreement with a leader in its industry in North America, to supply this essential chemical component to their production process in current expansion and growth.

In response to increased demand, Oxaquim has announced a direct investment of €20 million and the creation of 40 new jobs over the next four years to expand production at its factory in Alcañiz, Teruel, Spain.

This increase in activity, as CEO Marc Miquel points out, “will increase by 50 percent within two years, and another 50 percent in the following two years.”

Furthermore, Miquel adds, “once this investment is finalized, the possibility of building a plant in the United States will be studied.”

“Our strategic customer is directly involved in the supply of key components to companies advancing electrification and technology, specifically in the areas of wind turbines, electric vehicles, and all sorts of technological devices, such as smartphones, drones, the aerospace industry, robotics, and more.”

“The agreement with Oxaquim guarantees they will consolidate their growth and, to that end, have a reliable and loyal partner that ensures they can control the entire production process without any dependence on oxalic acid from China,” Miquel points out.

Without a doubt, Oxaquim’s manufacturing quality, commitment, and innovation, and the firm’s ties to the United States (Dani Miquel, the company’s CEO, born in New York, is an American national), explain why both parties are pleased today with an agreement that will mark a turning point for both the North American industry and the Spanish firm.
